Booked ticket with wrong surname airlines refused to change what to do

I would like to know my rights as a consumer. My firend and i booked 2 tickets by mistake I entered her last name incorrectly and asked spicejet to change it they refused stating ita security fr passengers. we booked another ticket bt to our surprise they checked us in on the wrong name we even showed ID proof and the boardin pass hs incorrect name. The amount of stress and money spent makes me a very unhappy consumer. Kindly assist.
