University did not provide admission on compassionate grounds

30-Aug-2023 (In Civil Law)
My brother should have got admission under employee wards quota as my father was permanent employee before his sudden unfortunate demise. In university rules it says the wards of permanent employees are consiodered , but does not say anywhere that the employees who expired while in service their ward will not be considered. The university rejected our application. After trying all the avenues i wish to pursue legal course. Is it possible ? will it make a good strong case ?

A writ petition may be filed in the relevant High Court for directions to the university to provide admission to your brother. For the same, I would require to peruse the specifics of your matter and also the relevant case laws to assist your cause.

Difficult to conclusively answer whether University is at fault or not, without reading the Rules. However, a Writ Petition can be filed In high Court for necessary relief. Word of caution:- these things take time and it is unlikely that you will seek admission in current academic year 2016-17 since we are now in September.
