Summoned by court in cousin brothers case, is it necessary to appear

Me my wife and my brothers wife r being summoned to appear b4 customs related to my brothers case,who is avoiding then from past six months.we don't know about his business and whereabout.what should I do. V r planning to appear b4 dem. What can v do so that this mi8 not be repeated and my parents who r senior citizen and handicapped should not be done the same

It is absolutely necessary for you to appear to establish your bonafide. Explain your case to them and file an affidavit to that effect. If even then you are subjected to unnecessary hardship then appropriate action can be taken.

It is better you appear before them and explain them that you are not having concern with your brother's case. Explain them that you don't know the whereabouts of your brother and also his business and also make a statement that you should not involve us in this matter.

you can attend the court and ask for the exemption of Personal appearance. and if your parents are senior citizens then they may get exemption by showing or proving that you all are not involved with same matter.
