Summon issued after 1 year of theft in house need help

There was a theft in our house almost a year back for which we had filed an fir. After that we did not receive any intimation and there was no action from our side. Now we have reviewed a summon from cjm court regarding same when we have absolutely no information about any case going in this matter. Can court issue us this summon when we have not filed any such case? Is it compulsory for us to receive this summon? What will happen if we do not receive this? What will happen if we receive and do not appear in court?

It is a criminal matter and it is presumed that every crime is against the state . they have called you to prove your FIR is genuine by recording your statements... it is a procedure under CRPC and you cqnnot deny the appearence before the court .... you must follow the orders.

आपको परेशान होने की कोई आवश्यकता नहीं है । जैसा कि आपने बताया कि आपने एफआईआर दर्ज करा दी थी, तो आपको तो कोई दिक्कत होनी ही नहीं चाहिए ।
पुलिस द्वारा उस एफआईआर के संबंध में ही संबंधित न्यायालय को अवगत कराया गया होगा, जिसके फलस्वरूप न्यायालय ने सम्मन जारी किया।
सम्मन ना लेना न्यायालय की अवमानना की श्रेणी में आता है और इस स्थिति में न्यायालय नियमानुसार जमानती अथवा गैर जमानती वारंट भी आपके विरुद्ध जारी कर सकता है ।

Your problem is not a civil matter and for your information there is compulsory to present before the hon'ble Court regarding the summon.
