Right on property
24-May-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi, our religion is hindu....
I would like to know one thing....
Do i have a right on my grandfather's self acquired property.....
My uncles are getting everything and my mother is uneducated....
My grandparents are alive still.....
Hello,
You do not have a right of share in your grandfather's self-acquired property when your grandfather's children are still alive. Upon your grand father's demise intestate (without executing will), his property would devolve upon your grandmother, your uncles/aunties and your mother in equal proportion. And upon your mother's demise, you have right over your mother's share in the self acquired property of your grandfather as during the lifetime of your grandfather's children i.e, your uncles/aunties and your mother, grandsons or granddaughters have no right on the grandfather's self-acquired property. I hope this clarifies your query.

Dear Client,
You have no right over the grand father`s self acquired property. He can dispose off in what ever manner he likes. Ancestral property means the property should come from forefathers as means of inheritance. If your grand father did not dispose of the property during his life time you will get share through you father.

No. You can not. You are not entitled for any share of your grand father's self acquired property until he alive.
If he died intestat, your mother can claim her share.
You can not even object your grand father if he alienates his properties.
