Restriction on social media by central government university

I am a student from central university of haryana. the authorities implemented restriction on social media usage and blog usage because they found that students used to criticize the institution through social media. restriction was implemented 08/03/2016 but no official declaration is made yet. no authorities are trying to answer any questions regarding this issue. how can i defend the action of university legally. can i get suggestions to restore the facility legally for students .

As per your query, the university has the authority to block the usage of websites within their campus but not restrict the students from using social media or blogs otherwise. The authorities can only put restrictions on their own IP address. Also, the students have a right to put forward an opinion and statements about the university based on personal experience or facts. If any tries to publish untrue facts about the university then it would amount to defamation and the university can sue the person for the same.
