Religion of child whose parents belong to different relifions

One Maratha male converted into Nav-Budhha and subsequently married to Maratha girl,under this situation whether children born will be labeled with"Maratha or Nav-Budhha?
Generally as in India we follow a patriarchal system of family the child generally acquires religion of the father by birth but the child can also choose later on which religion he wants to follow as guaranteed by our constitution.please contact your local lawyer for further advice
