Dear sir, I am 19 year old and still I don't have and voter ID, when I tried to take a sim with my adhar card they said I cannot take sim with adhar card, so I call my brother and ask his voter ID and again when I went to take Sim card with my brothers I'd they said they cannot provide me sim with my brother's I'd. So if I edi my brother's I'd card and put my name and my phito then will it be a illegal and what will be the penalty. My brother and mine village is same and address also same .
Yes, putting your photo and name on someone else's card is illegal. Do not do it. It will be a case of forgery which is punishable under the Indian penal code.
Punishment for forgery is imprisonment for 2 years or fine or both as the court may deem fit.
So, I would suggest that you apply for your voter's ID card. Do not use your brother's card.
