Neighbor creating problem in renovation, please advise

26-Jan-2023 (In Civil Law)
I am getting my flat renovated but my neighbor below is threatening and asking to stop staring damage to his property. No such damage has been caused and we are willing to pay for repairs. However, he is asking to stop work, threaten labour and me and not discussing any solutions. We are scared because of his harassment and behavior. What can be our next steps here ?

Just show how the repair or rennovation is much needed and if not done there is danger to life. Let him say whatever and be offensive instead of being defensive make a complaint in concerned police station against him under section 503/506 IPC . Rest can be discussed in a meeting.

I think, it is due to neighborhood rivalry or jealousy. First try to manage him through local people, if not successful, then move to police and try to take support any how. Through court it will take a long time.

In this case you should inform your RWA and take written permission from RWA to get renovate your flat. And, let the RWA deal with this person. And if there is no RWA so take legal permission from MCD and give its copy to local police station and if your neighbor creates issues so let police deal with him. As such no one can stop you to renovate your flat as you are the legal owner of that flat hence it is your legal right. But you can't damage any other person's property hence you need to take care this fact also.

Hello
First i ll suggest you check whelther the revocation is legal or not. As renovation inckuding extending the carpet area. You can easily check it with local development authority. If it is legal then you can take assistance of police since it is private nuisance against the property. You can lodge a FIR for nuisance ,harrasment and threat to life. After completion of 1st stage court proceedings will start.
