Need to recover money from MLM company

One of my friend had forced ne to join MLM business. And took 4lac from me. And he esured that if nothing happen with in one year ,he will return my money. Now he is not responding. Please help how to recover my hard earned money from him.
Payment must be by way of cheque against receipt from authorised person.
