Is it legal to do second marriage once alimony or maintenance for first wife starts? Please advice. She don't want to live with me and I don't want to live with her either, but she wants handsome maintenance for divorce.
If u r giving maintenance than if she marry second time than u r free not to give her maintenance and alimony she will get once only when u both r getting separately if u r giving alimony than u don't have to give maintenance.

No, you have to take divorce from court, there is nowhere mention that once alimony or maintenance start and you can do second marriage.
You can file divorce petition against your wife as ground mention in section 13 of Hindu marriage act. If you are Hindu, if not then you can take resource of special marriage act.
