You should not be worried as you have never borrowed any money and should approach a good lawyer to reply the legal notice sent by the opposite party or you can reply to the legal notice yourself. In my opinion, instead of taking legal recourse against threatening of the opposite party, you should defend your case.

You have to check the notice properly that on what grounds he is lamenting you that the money is borrowed by you , whether he got something in written , you gave him some chq. or verbally it was all done . In case if you do not answer/reciprocate the notice sent by him than you are loosing somewhere your chance of defense , which may be counted in the long run .

Relax. Don't worry, just go to an Advocate with the copy of the notices and explain your stand. He will then prepare a reply (if found necessary) and send it to the other party.

This is the first step and the next steps would depend on the content of the notice received by you.
