How to get compensation for land acquired by government

Dear Sir, We are having land near guntur. Railway dept acquired land for second track and the compensation they offered is very less. Please tell me how to approach the lawyer to accept the money through court with protest.
To my understanding the distribution of money will according to the proportion of the khewat i.e each owner's holding. So to give you further guidance, I need to know
1. what is your ownership status in the khewat?
