How can we with the help of traffic cops block this road

Sir,There is a sudden traffic diversion in my residential area..were vehicles use this as a short cut rather than using the main road.coz of this we are unable to live..huge sound and air pollution.our vehicles are getting damaged.our children's r not able to come out of house. We r unable to remove our car outside from parking since pple cant wait. Everyday these cab driver abuse us. How can we with the help of traffic cops block this road.. Plz help us as there is a minimum of 70 vehicles move in 60 sec.
In case the road is a private road then you can file a complaint and get the road blocked but in case of a pubic road you cannot stop any person from using such road as that road is meant to be used to everyone and cannot get a public road blocked.
