house damage by municipal department in road extension plan

My father had a land with patta since 40 years .my father constructed a house in that with approved building plan and also we are paying all taxes. at that we are in panchayath limits but recently 2 years back, it was merged in municipality and made it corporation by our government. Now our municipality people going for road extension . In that plan my house is going to be collapsed by government. How can i safe my house? all the people get loss their houses in that plan.

Generally in case of road widening, government gives compensation and alternative patta land for people losing their land to road widening.
Also in the event of availability of government land near by, you can always challenge the road widening at High court as government is supposed to use excess surplus land instead of acquiring private property.
