Govt. Universities Demanding money for issuing Original Degree

15-Apr-2023 (In Civil Law)
I have completed my UG and PG from a reputed State University in South India. I have paid all the college fees and received the No Due and Transfer certificates including the Provisional certificate and the Marks list. I want to receive my original Degrees and the University is demanding money of 1400 in the form of DD for that. My query is that when I have paid all the necessary fees and got the No-Due certificates from the University including the Transfer Certificate(TC), how can the University demand money for issuing the certificates to its students. The Academic fees that we have paid will cover everything including this right? Please clear my doubt. Thanks in Advance.

You will have to look into the fee structure of the said universities. Also, you can file petition in the jurisdictional civil court making the said university a party. The University can not hold your degrees as security against any kind of payment (If Due).

For academic purposes you can file consumer complaint and complain to the authorities giving recognition to the college. But the result is not worth spending time and energy persuing legal remedies. It your discretion.

you issue a complaint to the registrar of the concerned university about the scenario and there is vigilance section for each and every university please write a detailed complaint about the situation which can be taken up and action would be rendered
