Can we claim a govt land if we stayed there for nearly 20 years?

23-Oct-2023 (In Civil Law)
We were sold a piece of land by seller, on sale deed. When we went to get it registered, we realized that the land belongs to Govt and is not in the survey list. We tried to get it registered on our name by writing a pitition to Revenue Dept, Collector, MRO, etc all officials. Suddenly after a few years, the seller comes and forces us to return the land. We filed a case against him and won. All this took nearly 3 years. The court gave us permission to get it registered but we fear the seller for his dadagiri. What is the way out? Please help.

Retain a competent advocate in your area and send a legal notice to seller to register the property within stipulated time, enclose the copy of court order. If he doesn’t register, its wilful disobedience of court order, thus its contempt of Court. You can file contempt charges on him simultaneously file a police complaint on him for your safety and make cc to Superintendent of Police.
