Can private security guard restrain someone from entering

Hi In housing societies and otherwise, is a citizen bound to obey private security guards? Do they have the power vested in themselves to restrain someone physically and not allow to access the property. For example, if I live in a housing society and my guest wants to walk in. Now suppose security tells him to wait until supervisor is around or some other reason. Then my guests decides to walk in without obeying the guard. In this case can the security guard restrain him physically? Similarly if I have a courier and security asks me to come down to collect the courier and restrains the

Security guards can never restrain anyone physically unless and untill to protect the life of the members he is entrusted with. once you have expressly given the clearance he is bound to obey you as you through your society have hired him otherwise he can make a person wait untill he receives clearence no need to wait for the supervisor you can complaint to the security company and if he detains someone physically you can file a criminal complaint against him
