Can I file defamation case on behalf of someone

Hi, I would like to know if it is possible to legally ask for an apology or serve defamation notice to a media company on behalf of someone else. I am not directly related to the concerned person but would like to make sure there is factual content being shared to thousands of people. I believe the sensitive content was not created on facts and have proofs of the content that was aired. Please share the options available in such cases, legally. Thanks a lot in advance for your time.

U have to first take the permission from the person on who's behalf u want to peruse the matter. Gpa or representation letter.

in cases of media law some privileges will be available for them but it should be done only a victim whose reputation was attacked and got injury and the person related cant issue and file a application for ones loss. so he cant claim locus standi so please advice the acutal person to come out and file a case for defamation

A defamation case can be pursued only by the party who is affected.
However as a third party, if the content was sensitive and it has affected your private rights, then you as a third party can file a suit for damaging content against the publisher/media company.
You need to prove to the court with conclusive evidence that by the act of publishing content the media company had damaged your private rights and then only your case will be taken up.
