04-Nov-2023 (In Civil Law)
is there any ipc section pertaining to take action against a person asking legal advice. For instance, if Mr X asks for advice in context to criminal law on a forum/website.etc, can he be booked under that crime.

Taking into consideration the facts provided by you and your query.

It clearly shows that you have not understood the profession it self.

As per law. Unlike Doctors. Any legal advice or consultancy provided by the lawyers on any forum/in person/on phone via email etc is an an advice or their legal opinion on the issue , which is sought by the client or any individual. for their legal query. An advice or consultation is only a suggestion or an opinion expressed by the lawyers or consultants regarding the issue and not any decision taken.

It is completely the discretion of the client weather to take final decisions as opined/advised/consultation given by the lawyer/s on any particulate issue. It is opinion which is sought by the client and not any product which is brought.
As the lawyer or a law firm are always termed as "practicing lawyer" or law firms. simply because they are "practicing" and NOT deemed to be experts of the field. Also law is a subject who's position is always changing hence no one can be an expert in the field. Not even the judges. Hence there are so may court of appeals in our judicial system. Simply to minimize the miscarriage of justice.
There is no IPC section or any other legal remedy which can be invoked in this particular issue. As the context in which the question is posed is unethical in nature. As the subject of law falls under humanities discipline. All the humanities disciplines are abstract in nature.

Best Regards.

No he can't be booked under the crime.
Making general inquiry on any forum not amount to crime.
IPC section not allow any kind of such action against any person who can get help in order to resolve issue.
