Boyfriend asking back money (not given as loan) after breakup

02-Nov-2023 (In Civil Law)
My boyfriend used to send me some money every month (not as loan). I am a student, still I had never asked for it and often returned it back. He did not like that hence, I then spent that money on our dates and gifts whenever we met (cash, not electronic). Now when we broke up, he is asking it back. I live in a small city in Gujarat. He is calling and harassing me and my family for past few months. He has used various tricks, even blackmailed to call me to Bangalore. I even fear my saefty by going to that city. When every thing failed, he has gone to the police for the same. I got a call from Police Station asking me to visit to Bangalore, else return back the money involved. I have the tracked the mobile no to the best of my knowledge and it looks legitimate. I need help here as I cannot go to Bangalore. I need to ask, 1. Do I need to return money (gifts) he sent when we were in a Relationship? 2. If the police has legal rights to summon me to Bangalore for this reason?

First of all find out proofs that you were in relationship with that boy as girl friend.
Secondly police cannot call you or send summons only on this issue because it's purely a civil matter as per details given by you.
Yes if he files a case of recovery of that amount which he had deposited in your account and able to prove that you had taken loan from him than you have to repay that amount. For gifts he have to prove that those were not gifts in relationship but those were asked by you as kind of a loan.
If you can do and able to handle than take help/advice or hire his services of your city's good lawyer and get register complaint against that boy and please disclose all facts according to legal advice and provide all proofs whatever out can.
