In the scenario enumerated by you, you can initiate a civil action seeking damages/compensation under the law of torts while parallely carrying on with the criminal action wherein also you could be granted separate compensation under Section 357 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, if the criminal court deems fit.

Yes you can get compensation. You need to discuss in detail. Where did the fire broke? Was it your negligiance or some other reason?
