Long back, an eminent thinker and author, Sophocles, had to say: “Law can never be enforced unless fear supports them.” Though the aforesaid statement was made centuries back, it has its pertinence, in a way, with the enormous vigour, in today’s society. It is the duty of every right-thinking citizen to show veneration to law so that an orderly, civilized and peaceful society emerges. It has to be borne in mind that law is averse to any kind of chaos. It is totally intolerant of anarchy. If any one defies law, he has to face the wrath of law, depending on the concept of proportionality that the law recognizes.

You will not be debarred from getting any government job. A person is debarred from getting a government job only when he has been convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude. But remember one thing that NEVER EVER HIDE THE FACTS OF YOUR CASE WHENEVER YOU ARE ASKED, because hiding it will go against you. Best of luck!

You can not completely debar from the appointment in police department or any other department on the bases of criminal record but you will have to disclose each and every fact in the selection application and police verification application submitted before the verification authority that there was a criminal case registered against me and I was acquitted on account of compromise between the parties involved in the criminal case, so you cannot be denied an opportunity to qualify for any post including the post of police force.

Only crimes involving moral turpitude will affect your chances of getting a government job. Accidents are accidents, they do not involve moral turpitude.
