Yes it is possible. You can fight for joint/full custody and meanwhile have full access to your child. You and your wife can spend equal time with him. If your wife is mutually agreeing on joint custody or access then consent terms can be filed in the family court and you would get divorce as well as custody/access within 6 Months of filing the application.
