Does the Directive order fall under Interim Order

10-Oct-2023 (In Child Custody Law)
Hi, After I filed for child custody of my daughter 2.5 years old in the Madras HC, I filed 2 applications along with the Original Petition. They filed a counter, we filed another affidavit and they filed another rejoinder. The court issued an order referring us to mediation and also on my visitation. Recently,I filed Two applications. My questions are: 1.does that directive cover the Original Petition or does it cover only the 2 applications which were in the court at that point in time? 2. Does the directive/ order fall under 'interim order'? Thanks

Such reference to mediation does not amount to 'interim order'. But the mediation is an court approved informal method to arrive a settlement by the consent of both the parties. So even the main application could be discussed along the interim applications. If the mediation fails the court process restarts from the point when the matter was referred to mediation.
