Child in my custody can father file case for custody in coming days

i got married in 2012 ad within 3 months i got separated from my husband becoz of physical tortures. i have a girl child ad from 3 yrs Im taking care of her both physically ad financially. i didn't had any contact wit my husband from past 3 yrs. Im getting scared now he might snatch away my kid from me so can u tell me wht are my rights in case of girl child custody ad when s d right age my kid decides with whom she has to stay in future. Please help me i cant live without my child please
Assuming you are Hindu, generally the custody of a girl child is given to mother. As per the law if the girl child is below the age of 5years then the custody is given to the mother only. After the age or 7 or after reaching maturity the court may consider the child's opinion or wish to stay with either of the parents.
