What legal actions when person absconded after drawing cheque ?

a person issued me a cheque after taking money but now he is missing . what should i do now ... i have cheques but the person is mnot available and a missing report was also published by the parents of that person .what should i do now to claim my money or to whom as his parents are alresdy denying every thing ..
First deposit cheque in bank and when it bounced send notice to him through counsel with in 30 day's of cheque bounce at the adress which he has given in his bank account and if he doesn't give reply with in 15 days of receiving notice den file criminal complaint under sec 138 of N.I Act in magistrate court.
