Person gave me cheque now claiming that i have stolen it

One of my friend issued check to me by sing and date written by him and date and name written by me ..month ago now he had done stop payment and send me a legal notice mentioning I had steal the check from his house..and if I use this check It will be iilegally ..what should I do?
If he has to pay you money and cheque was issued to you by him to pay you money .you should deposit the cheque immediately n if it is not paid then file case for cheque bounce .you should ignore his legal notice and take legal action as suggested above. You can consult me if you are in delhi ncr .
