Notice on cheque bounce sent to defaulter but no reply received

27-Sep-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
I've sent a lawyer notice to my friend who's a defaulter and asked to repay 5,55,000 borrowed within 15 days as stated due to a cheque bounce. However, the defaulter has vacated her house after acknowledging my notice. I wish to proceed filing a case 138 but not sure if i could get any help from the police to track her address. She'd borrowed got her mother's medical expenses, death and funeral but we were shocked that her mom is very much alive..... the same was started to the local police station before sending the lawyer's notice as well. Please suggest.

you need to trace the address, there is a stipulated time period to file a case under section 138 after sending the legal notice. else you need to file a recovery case in the civil court. if you are unable to trace the address you can ask the court to process the summons through publication.
