Sir first u have to give a legal notice telling him to return cheque as entire amount has been paid, next give a complaint to police stating totally 8 cheques have been given as security not towards any debt or liability later u have to give paper publication that 8 cheques were given to him and not to othere and if any takes or present to bank they will be held liable. So do it u will br safe.

if you are ready to settle his amount in 6 months then let him file cheque bounce case against you. the court will grant time you to settle the amount. Before that he will send you legal notice for non payment contact me with that will give reply to him.

You have paid interest for the money taken by you and I hope you had a knowledge about the interest when you have taken the money. If he is a private financier then check whether he is holding money lending licence and I.T payer meantime what is the standard rate of interest and how much he has imposed on you. If it is not legal then of course you have a right before court of law to defend your case. If you have a supporting document to prove for payment of heavy interest then it will be helpful for you in your case. Meantime as you have given cheque while taking the money on this basis he can present the cheque for recovery and can file case against you under 138 OF N.I. Act and you are liable to answer for the same by contesting the case.

Sir,
Please let me know if you have already received a notice and whether the cheques have been presented
Also let me know if you have maintained accounts of the money borrowed and repaid in the normal course of your business
I also require details as to whether they were blank cheques or signed with amounts filed in
