How to recover back money from a friend

30-Mar-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)

I had given money to my friend who in turn had given it to a person who promised to get him a job. It's been over 5 months and the person has neither paid the money or got a job.He has been giving false promises to repay and hasn't payed money till date. Though I was polite in the beginning, I lost my cool and texted him using profanity to repay my money. Now he is saying he will go legal as I used profanity. All money related transactions are documented/online transactions recorded. He has given cheque and I have submitted the same and 100% sure it will bounce. What am I supposed to do now

You can claim back your money that you lent to your friend by filing a recovery suit under order 37 of CPC which is a civil suit. If the cheque issued to you bounces then you can send a legal notice, if your friend fails to reply to the legal notice then you can file a criminal case under section 138 if Negotiable Instrument act.
