How to initiate proceedings in case of cheque bounce

Party had given me cheque for Rs. 15,000/- against material which he took from me. Then it was bounce and he kept on telling me he will pay by cash dont deposit the money. It was before 6-7 months. Now is there any way that i can take any action.

U can show the cheque and u can file criminal case of sec 420 as now date for cheque is over as cheque have 3 months validity and if it would have u could file 138 but now this option is not thr for u .

1. Deposite cheque for clearing.Cheque return insufficient fund
2. Then legal notice within 30 days of cheque return date
3. Then reached notice date to after 15 days and then you can file complain within 30 days.
