Foreign Currency Cheque Bouncing in Indian Account

04-May-2023 (In Cheque Bounce Law)
When I was abroad, one of my friend who was with me took a friendly loan from me in local Foreign currency. He gave me a cheque without date against the loan. Now both of us are back in India. He is not willing to pay the money back. When I talked to the Indian banks , they are ready to accept the Foreign Currency Cheque in my Indian Accounts and issue me cheque return memo if the cheque bounces (it will take some time because they need to send the cheque to the foreign bank). Can I take him to Indian Courts under Negotiable Instruments act for the bouncing of the Foreign Currency cheque in to my Indian account ? Can I file a recovery suit against him in Indian for the money which he borrowed abroad ? Can I file a police complaint / FIR for fraud / cheating / breach of trust etc ? What are the best options available for recovering my money and at the same time punishing him for his misdeeds.
