Cheque issued to me bounced what can I do

A cheque that was issued to me by one of my vendors has bounced twice due to non availability of funds. What is the best course of remedy available to me.
Statutory legal notice has to be issued within 30 days from the date of bounce giving him 15 days time and if he/she refuses to make the payment or doesn't reply to the notice, a private complaint has to be filed in the jurisdictional court within 30 days from the date of expiry of 15 days time.
