Bank telling amount of balance in my account to anyone what to do

I have an account in Punjab National Bank. I applied a cheque in the bank through a third person then that person came to me telling the exact amount in my bank. Can bank give out account balance information just like that? Can i take any action against the bank?
It depends upon the authority you have given to the third party to operate your account. If the authority was only given up to issuing of cheque books then the bank cannot disclose your personal details to the third party and therefore you can take action against the bank.
