Bank sent letter to my society stating that I am a defaulter

can i do a defamation case on a bank because they have sent a letter to my society that i am defaulter in paying my EMI's... but actually i am not a defaulter
in case u r not defaulter then u have issued legal notice to the bank, therafter file complaint case for demation and no due against u before consumer forum. alongwith receipt/acknowledgement of payment of EMIs

In case you are not defaulter and letter is sent to society under mistake then definitely you can take legal action. please check status of your account properly since Bank's criteria to declare account irregular is not commonly known to public.
