Way to get Discharged of service before the bond expiration
22-Jun-2023 (In Armed Forces Tribunal Law)
I have completed 15 years of service in indian air force and want to get discharge from service now. But the bond is of 20 years. Compassionate grounds like being the only son or having big property or medical problems don't favor me. How to get discharge then at this juncture? Please advise.
Dear u must qualify for entrance for the applicable post than only can leave the present organisation and even after that u face any herdles than couřts r open to teach a lesson to the management team of IAF.

There are policy in forms of AFOs in your service taking help of which you may seek discharge from service on extreme compassionate grounds. If your application is not entertained or dismissed, you may seek interview of the DPA/AOP. The last step is AFT.

Indian Air Force allows air warriors to take discharge only after completion of initial term of engagement. In your case it has to be 20 years. However, in extreme cases the discharge may be permitted before the expiry of term of engagement. Besides compassionate reasons it includes selection for certain employments stipulated in AFO on subject. So if you want to leave then you can try for selection to Civil Services etc.
