Can maintenance be granted to wife from husband salary ?

26-Jan-2023 (In Armed Forces Tribunal Law)
Can Air Force grant maintainance allowance from the officers salary to his wife if she wants to get separated? Though this is the area of civil court as far as i am aware. Also is it legal for Air Force and AFWWA to help/instigate the officer's wife who is putting false allegations on him such as domestic violence, adultry and anti-national?

Yes. On the application made by the lady wife the Air Force Authorities can grant maintainance allowenecs. If you are aggreived by the said order then you can challenge the same in the AFT. However this is an interim releif and she will have to move to civil court. Further AFWWA is an association to look after the welfare of lady wives and an aggrieved lady wife can always approach the AFWWA which inturn can ask the Air Force authorities to look into the matter and grant releif. However befor this you must have been issued a show cause notice?

Hi, as per AFO amended from time to time the Air Force has authority to grant up to 1/3 of your pay to your wife as maintenance allowance. But, you have to move against that order. Further, the AFWWA and other agencies are nothing but machinery to torture the men in uniform at the instances of their wives. You need to take suitable steps to prevent them.
