Q: Faulty Electric Meter , Very High Bill

My electric meter ( in the name of my octogenarian mother ) is defective for many months with high abnormal bills . The analogue electric meter is 21 years old and continues to revolve ( the disk continues to move ) even when the main electric switches are off . I have also calculated the wattage consumed in my home and it is much less than what is billed regularly . Many complaints to the electric company including legal notice by my advocate has yielded no results . A case has also been filed in the local district consumer forum , but at present there is a pending bill of Rs 10,000 ( approx ) of the last three months due to the defective meter . My advocate is telling me that there is no way but to pay the bill otherwise the electric company will disconnect my electric connection any time in the coming days . Can the disconnection be stopped till the court order ?

you should have file writ application before honorable Calcutta High Court for continuation of Electric Supply at your resident would be the quick remedy for the problem you are facing for high electric billing amount and or defective metre.

you have to show your roots in India through your paternal or maternal relations, and or reside in India continuously upto 7yrs without any interruption for any reason whatsoever. like education, medical and or as refugee.

Q: Can my mother file new cse in same court

My mother filed Title suit before lockdown. But as per Bar council resolution Court not entertaining old cases. At this stage can my mother file new case with the help of change cause of action in same court. We need injunction immediate. Kindly suggest me

it is not clear whether u have filed injunction application in amd what was the order, thought I suggest you to file an application under section 151 of CPC. by stating the reason of urgency and deliberation of other party /defendant for which you seek a restraining order from the court and or framing out another cause of action in existing title suit. you should only go by way of 151 for an injunction. and mention about your mother's old age for consideration of the same as early as possible.

If you are married to a citizen of india and residing for atleast 7 years before registration.If ur an adult and your parents re citizens of independent india and you are residing for 1 complete years before application.By Naturalization :You can get a certificate of naturalisation from the central govt if you fulfill following criteria :1) you re not a citizen of any other nation and ready to renounce the citizenship of anyother nation upon registration to India. 2) you have resided in india or in the service of Government of India or Partly one and partly other throughout the perion of 12months immediately preceeding the date of application;3)and 14 years immediately preceeding the said 12 months you have either esided in india or in the service of Government of india or parly one and partly of other resulting in a total aggregate of 11 years, 4) you are of good character.
