U can't compromise as theft is an offence which is non- compoundable under section 320 of Criminal Procedure CodeU will have to appear before the court as witness & deny about the earlier statement made before the police

actually one of my friend ran away with a girl and marry to her. This happened in Delhi. i live in jaipur.He called me one or two times after this incident but he didn't tell me anything about this incident. After that i received call from delhi police.
