Q: What action can i take if husband has left and staying somewhere else
My name is swati. I got married in Feb-13.My husband is not taking care of me from the beginning.he left me his in laws and went for job they never even call me.everyday he change his number and try to unreachable.i heard that he had another affair before marriage and his parents knew it.Now i heard that he got married with that girl.i don"t have his any contact number and his parents are saying we don"t know any thing about him.i have 2 years baby girl.Even he never come to see her. i thought his parents were known from the beginning and for dowry he married with me.i am suffering huge mental problem.my family and relatives tried lot of time to solve this problem by mutual understanding but it was totally unsuccessful .Last time when i talked him almost 8 month ago,he said i will never come.He and his family destroyed my life,his family got enough dowry and he left me.I think,marriage was a pre plan step .Please suggest me what kind of case i should file.

You can file criminal case for this cruelty under India Penal Code and Domestic Violence Act. With it You cam also file a maintenance case for urself n also for your baby. And if you have a strong proof of second marriage than You can also file a criminal case against your husband.
Q: Religion conversion to avoid divorce to do second marriage
My sister is married for 11 years now. She wants divorce as her husband has many extra marital affairs and done many times domestic voilence against her and have even attempted to murder her. Last week FIR is registered for the same under sections 498a and 307. But still there is no proper action from police and he is roaming outside india and went to Nepal where his present girlfriend stays. He says he will convert to Muslim and remarry without giving divorce to my sister so that he doesn't have to share property to her. Please let me know can he do this..will the law allow this?

hi, there are so many supreme court rulings, a man cannot change his religion only for another marriage and if he do so than he will be guilty of bigamy which is punishable under IPC. Your sister has also an option to get maintenance from her husband and so many reliefs are provided in various laws.
